Simple Ways to Care for Your Skin

Our skin which covers our whole body is considered to be our biggest organ, this is why we should take extra care of it. Most women spend thousands of dollars in products that promise to give them younger and healthier looking skin. However, you do not really have to spend that much if you want to have good skin, as there are simple things that you can do everyday for your personal skin care that does not have to be expensive.

Cleanse regularly
The old cleanse and moisturise routine never gets old. Clean your face in the morning and night, and try not to sleep without any makeup on. Sleeping with makeup on can clog your pores and cause breakouts the next day. Moisturise regularly so that your skin does not get dry due to extreme heat or cold. Exfoliate once every one to two weeks to rid your skin of dead skin cells so that new and healthy skin cells can surface.

Use sunscreen
The sun is still the number one cause for skin aging. This is a must-have for anyone who wants to maintain their skin’s youthfulness over time. Gradual sun exposure causes existing dark spots to aggravate while sunspots and wrinkles also develop over time. Aside from sunscreen, if you are an avid makeup user, choose one that has sunscreen. Most foundations and face powders already contain a certain amount of SPF to provide protection for your face.Mineral makeup also has naturally occurring SPF because of its ingredients titanium oxide and zinc oxide.

Take Vitamin C
You know that Vitamin C helps you strengthen your immune system and fight off cough and colds. But do you also know that Vitamin C is good for your skin? Vitamin C helps heal blemishes from acne scars and blackheads. The ascorbic acid found in Vitamin C also helps fight wrinkles and aids in natural cell regeneration.

Drink lots of water
Our body is made up of ¼ water that’s why it is important to always keep your skin hydrated all the time. Drinking water helps flush out toxins from your system that can also cause unnecessary breakouts and other impurities in your skin.

Sleep well
Never take for granted the benefits of having a full night’s sleep. During the night, your skin regenerates while you are at rest, and it is important that your system gets enough rest so that your bodily functions are recharged. Lack of sleep also causes dark undereye circles, which can be hard to remedy since the skin under your eyes are the thinnest and most sensitive to wrinkles.

Living a healthy lifestyle while you are still young is key. Caring for your skin does not have to complicated and expensive, a lot of people take for granted the many simple ways they can care for their skin without having to shell out thousands of dollars for it.
